this video is for you kids out there that are sick of unhealthy lunches that are served in our cafeterias. here is you’re healthy alternative:
ideas for healthy back to school lunch:
a typical lunch that i bring to school consists of:
a salad. what i put in my salad is: in Tupperware #1 lettuce, tomato, carrots, celery, grilled chicken, onions.
in Tupperware #2 i put oil and vinegar, as well as some salt pepper and a dab of grated cheese.
i put these things in separate containers because if i were to put them together, the salad would get soggy and nasty.
you can also make a wrap. here are some ideas for wraps
-a wrap BLT. if you don’t know what a BLT is, it stands for bacon, lettuce, and tomato; and you can add some shredded cheddar cheese too!rolled up into a fat free flour tortilla.
now yes, bacon isn’t the healthiest food, but in general this wrap is a good healthy back to school meal.
-a turkey wrap, which consists of: deli turkey, reduced fat mayo, some chopped up onions, and some lettuce, rolled up into a fat free flour tortilla.
- veggie wrap, which is the most healthy wrap, obviously.
it consists of: red onion, cheese of choice, chopped tomato, lettuce leaves, and optional non fat cream cheese rolled up into a fat free flour tortilla.
-and my personal favorite: a chicken wrap, which has: grilled chicken cut into strips, chopped onion, shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, and chopped tomato.
you can also bring a fruit salad, which could be of any fruit that you desire.
for example, watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes, strawberries, apple, banana.
